This is a video kind of explaining my project and solution

Today, I went with some friends to see this movie. It was so inspiring. These kids are just in high school. They found a problem and decided to do something about it. My eyes were opened to a whole new world I haven’t thought of, but have been indirectly effected by.

We all have so many misconceptions about “illegal immigration” and “citizenship” and the likes. Now, I’m not sure what my stance is on the issue, but one thing I know is, we are all, in some ways, immigrants. We have roots in this word and that’s why this nation was made possible.

Another addition to this theme, I started reading Dave Egger’s What Is The What. It has to do with a man from Sudan. It is similar to this whole issue. I’m very tired, I’ve been planning a lot with this!

People

My new obsession is Diandra Forrest. Diandra is a black albino. I have this weird thing with albinos, especially black ones, they just interest me so much. Maybe because they are the ultimate guessing game. You know what their race is by looking at their features. They are a blank slate, racially ambiguous. This picture is obviously airbrushed, making her not look as albino, but she is gorgeous just the same.

My other obsession is Shaun Ross, another black albino model. They have this beauty to  them, that not very many people see, because they are different. A charity I hold dear to my heart, and I’m not sure why, is Under the Same Sun. After I watched two different documentaries on the disgusting events happening to albinos in Tanzania, including being amputated/killed in the for witch doctors absurd “magic healing”. I just have this obsession with them, not because they are “freaks of nature” but because they are this rare beauty, that tests us to see that everyone is beautiful.

So, don’t judge people by their color.

Sign of the Times =)

Oh Dear!

Hi everyone! I am so sorry I have not kept up with this very well! Looks like I’ve lost some followers, yikes! I had to give a presentation for this project, and I had to take a little break afterwards, but I’m back!

If anyone has any pictures they want to submit, stories to share, questions to ask, I’m here and all ears =)

Thanks!

One of my favorite models, Alek Wek. A while ago, she probably wouldn’t have been considered beautiful because of her dark skin, but she is a force in the modeling world today. She is so natural and gorgeous!
Ethnically, you would say she is “black”. But she is more than that. She is from the Dinka ethnic group in Southern Sudan.
I think Sudanese sounds prettier, and it isn’t that hard. It’s just what she is.

Je ne sais pas!

I found this amazing organization MANVIN who have a subgroup called Generation Mix. But. As I was exploring their website and trying to email them, it seems that I was 6 years too late. It appears that it was abandoned after they toured around the country in 2005. Maybe I should get a team together and replace this group. I hope I am wrong, because they seemed to have a lot of success, even scoring Barack Obama as a contributer to their documentary.

Anyone want to join my army?
